Prepare once. Share information in the right order.

A staged checklist helps keep the first request useful while reserving documents and sensitive information for the correct recipient and delivery method.

Data minimization by design

More information is not always better.

Send only what is necessary for the current stage. October Capital Funding's initial application does not ask for an SSN, government ID, bank login, full account number, or routing number. A later provider request should identify the provider, purpose, and secure submission method before sensitive information is supplied.

Stage 1 · Initial request

Information suitable for this website

The first-stage application is intentionally limited. Have these business facts ready:
  • Requested amount range and specific business use
  • Legal business name, DBA, entity type, industry, and start date
  • Business address, phone, website, and state of formation
  • Approximate monthly and annual revenue ranges
  • General information about banking, card sales, invoices, and existing business financing
  • Authorized business contact name, title, ownership percentage, email, and phone

Stage 2 · If requested

Documents a provider may ask for later

Requirements vary by product and provider. Do not send documents until the delivery method and recipient are confirmed.
  • Recent business bank statements
  • Business tax returns or internally prepared financial statements
  • Accounts-receivable or accounts-payable aging reports
  • Eligible invoices, contracts, equipment lists, or property details
  • Existing financing statements or payoff information
  • Organizational documents and evidence of authority

Stage 3 · Secure channel only

Sensitive information that does not belong in the initial form

If an independent provider lawfully requires sensitive data, use that provider's verified secure process, not a general email or this first-stage form.
  • Social Security number or individual tax identification number
  • Government-issued identification images
  • Bank username, password, one-time code, or security answers
  • Full bank account or routing numbers
  • Payment-card numbers or cardholder authentication data
  • Personal residential information not necessary for the initial inquiry

Before sending a document

Verify the request and the channel.

  1. 01

Confirm who is requesting the document and why it is needed.

  2. 02

Confirm the website, portal, or other secure delivery method independently.

  3. 03

Remove unrelated personal or account information where appropriate.

  4. 04

Keep a record of what was sent, when, and to whom.
